Tips for Testing and Revising Your Web Site
These are some general suggestions for testing your site. You will always be changing the content of your site and sometimes even the design.  It is important to test these revisions and updates.
  1. Check your site navigation for "dead-ends".  What I mean by this is ensure that all navigation links work properly and that there is a clear method to return to the main menu or index page.
  2. Check every page for spelling and grammar errors.  This makes a statement to the care you've taken in developing your web site.  Suggestions:  have a friend or colleague proof your site for you.
  3. Check all content for accuracy.  If possible get experts to review your site contents for you.
  4. Check every page for broken image or text links.
  5. Make sure all graphics are optimized for the fastest loading time. Try to keep you graphics small.
  6. If you have forms on your site check them to make sure they are operating correctly.
  7. Check all page load times at various connection rates.
  8. If you have graphics make sure you have included ALT tags for your visitors who have their graphics turned off.
  9. Check your site in different browsers and different display settings.  Remember just because it looks good in your browser and with your settings does not mean that everyone's computer is going to have the same settings.
