In 1997, B&J Computers, Inc. installed its first wireless data transfer system to provide wireless intranet/internet access between two facilities. This installation is still efficiently providing data communications.
In 1999, satellite internet access was introduced as part of our internet technology offerings.
In 2003, B&J Computers, Inc. proposed wireless DSL internet access to its clients. This new service replaced satellite access since, for B&J’s customers, it is
1. faster and more user friendly than telephone dial-up,
2. less expensive per month, costing B&J clients a minimum of 25% less per month than comparable monthly satellite internet access rates plus no “cap” on bandwidth, a common problem for satellite internet access users,
3. up to 66% faster on the “up-load” (back-haul) than satellite internet access.
In 2006, B&J Computers, Inc. become the only Apple Authorized Service Center in Southern Illinois.
In 2008, B&J computers, Inc. became a reseller and installer for VoIP phone systems, had technicians receive their MCTS and MCSA while also maintaining our Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status.
In 2009, B&J Computers, Inc. held AVG Gold Reseller status, became a Malware Bytes reseller and renewed our Apple Service Certifications while also maintaining Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status.
In 2010, B&J Computers, Inc. started offering remote managed services, allowing us to remotely repair or train users on their systems as long as they have an Internet connection. This service has saved our clients in both time and money due to having an almost instantaneous technician available. When getting an error message instead of being bothered having to write them down our clients call us and just have us remote in and save themselves the hassle of relaying the information.
In 2011, B&J Computers, Inc. started configuring and installing DVR security systems allowing business owners to have peace of mind and the ability to remotely view what is going on at their business locations. The DVR security systems can be configured for secure viewing by your smartphone or anywhere you have an internet access.
